new x34 december 2015 build impressions

well, i ordered an x34 about a week and a half ago from ncix us . it arrived today and the first thing i did was look for the build date. it shows december 2015. i've been using the acer xr341ck for about 2 weeks while i waited for the x34. i intend to run the x34 with 2 xr341ck monitors in a sim racing triples application. the xr341cks look good with just a bit of ips glow / bl bleed at the corners, but not bad at all. now that were into the 3rd or 4th build cycle of the x34 my hope was that they are making progress addressing previous reported issues. im running a gtx980ti (a second 980ti will be installed before going to triples) and monitoring with gpu tweek2. the x34 fired up and my first impression was that their were no dead pixels and virtually 0 ips glow / bl bleed                                                                                                                                                               next up is oc to the advertised 100hz. i started conservative going up in 10hz increments. finally the true test, i rebooted at 100hz and wa la. 100hz without issues.                                                                                                                                                                   2 down 1 to go. finally i ran about 15 minutes of project cars and rf2 to look for any stability issues, artifacts, flickering, or anything out of the norm.  the result. it was issue free. smooth as it can be. running between 110 to 150fps. at those frame rates i cant comment on how effecive gsync is yet.                                                                                                                                                                just a few final comments. running this monitor at 60hz the 980ti uses about 4% vram. running this monitor at 100hz pushes vram to 8 or 9%.  if some people have issues going to 100hz with this build, check to see you have enough vram. other then that i am thrilled with my first taste of the x34 december build.

UPDATE: last night i spent about 4 hours setting up and tweeking the settings. i was able to view the monitor in a totally dark enviorment. in my original post i stated 0 ips glow / bl bleed. for the sake of accuracy that statement was not accurate. it does have a bit of ips glow, and the upper left corner has just a bit of bl bleed. neither is very bad though and is even less noticable in dark scenes with the brightness set below 50%. everything else seems to perform as it should. i will update this thread if things change.

have had 2 x34 and both had coil whine under 100hz but not under 60

hi zysor, last night i tried all refresh rates and it is dead silent. until more people share their experience with the december build we cant say if acer has actually addressed prior issues or if i just got lucky in the x34 lottery.
