Need  fix for Acer A1-830 and Blackerry z30 Hotspot dropped Connection Problems. This problem is related to the recent upgrade from Android OS JellyBean 4.2.4 to KitKat 4.4.2. Need to know if next Android OS update is going to resolve this problem.

  • Hi Mark,

I Hope we had this discussion with your earlier post. Did you try to connect to a different Wifi networks does it work?

Hi, I said earlier that my Blackberry z30 was working 100% before the upgrade to KitKat 4.4.2. If I down grade to Jellybean 4

2.4 my BlackBerry z30 Hotspot works fine. I did try to connect my Acer 1A-830 to a Samsung Galaxy Hotspot and it works perfectly. Obviously there is a compatibility issue with Acer A1- 830 and the BlackBerry z30 Hotspot. Since the Acer A1-830 original Android OS Jellybean 4.2.4 works perfectly with my BlackBerry z30 that indicated there is a problem with the KitKat4.4.2 IS. Thanks for the help but you read my previous complaint I made clear that the Android KitKat4.4.2 is causing the problem. This is a software issue and Acer need to address the issue. Thanks!!!

Does your tablet see the hotspot at all? When you try to connect does it ask for the Wifi password?

Yes, the Hotspot was visible but it just keep trying to connect without any success.

Have you tried to get it to forget the network, then reconnect so it will ask for the password again?

Hi, thanks again. I have a very strong technical background so I already tried your suggestions. As I said before this is a software issue which need Acer to rectify this problem. Thanks!!!

  • Hi Mark,

If its a Software Issue with 4.4.2, the Tablet would not connect to any Wifi or Hotspot, as you confirm that this same tablet works with the Hotspot from your Samsung Phone, we could not conclude that the issue is with the Tablet.
