Your system supports Four DIMM slots supporting 240-pin unbuffered DDR3 SDRAM modules

    Data rate supported: 800/1066/1333 MT/s

Maximum memory: 16 GB (using four 4 GB modules)

    Hope this Helps

Many thanks for your reply.  Is there any difficulty accessing the motherboard in this model?  It seems pretty compact.  Just looking for any time-saving tips.

WRT memory, apparently the system takes up a lot of memory (even running Win7 and not earlier versions).  I thought I would use Crucial's recommendation for the memory and purchase 2 sticks of 2 each for an easy $30 upgrade.  The 2 GB sticks are

    Crucial Ballistix Sport 2GB DDR3-1600 UDIMM CT5669344
    • DDR3 PC3-12800 • 9-9-9-24 • Unbuffered • NON-ECC • DDR3-1600 • 1.5V • 256Meg x 64 •

Reasonable, or should I purchase 4 identical sticks and not mix these two with the original?

    Thanks,

    Ken K

Thanks.  I had run the crucial scanner and I had searched youtube, but found nothing.  I suppose I will just dive in.  Thanks

Sorry after Looking over your message. Your asking about how to access and not What you can add.. So to add to my first post.

Make sure your system is off and you have everything unplugged from your computer...

Looking at the Back of your computer there are 2 screws that hold on a Side Panel. Take out the 2 Screws and then pull the panel towards the back then lift it off your case...Screenshot (20).png

Then you will see the inside of your computer. Before you touch anything if you don't have a Computer Wrist Strap you can touch the computer frame to discharge any type of static you have. You would want to touch a non painted surface like the body of the Power Supply...Once you do that you will need to then Remove the front Panel of your case. This is Held in place by 2 or 3 plastic Clips. Lift them slighly and then move the front cover off. You will do this becasue you will want to remove the HDD (Hard Drive) and DVD/CD Drive Cage from the case.

    Screenshot (19).png

The picture above that tray will have 2 screws holding that in place. After removing them screws you can lift the casge out. YOu will want to remove the Power and Data Cables from your Drives so it will come out. The one at the back (Toward the CPU) you can get ahold of in the case. The other you can as well but it is easier to remove the Drive caddy slightly so you can reach them better. The cables just slide straight out...

You don't need to take any wires off the MB (Motherboard)...After you set the Drive cage caddy off to the side you will be able to have total View of your MB. What is important about adding Ram to your system or any system is that you use matched pairs.

So where the Blue and black are  you can have different sizes as long as the are the same size in the same color. To add ram like the picture here of the black slot you will want to open the outside clips before you put in the ram, When you put the ram in make sure that they click closed on both sides. So like 2Gb in the Black, and 4GB in the blue matched pairs for 12gb of Ram total for that setup...

    Screenshot (22).png

Once you have your Ram in place. Put the Drive Caddy/Cage back in place. YOu may need to have slight angle to get it to set in right, also making sure you don't try and force it in place.... Put the screws back in place, then put the front cover in place until it clips onto the case. also making sure to connect your drives back up

Put the cover back in place and slide it forward until you can get the screws back in. Replace screws and then put all the cables like Mouse, KB, Video and then the last cable to connect is the power cable...

Hope this helps some. You may be able to do it without taking out the drive cage/caddy however if you only have one Ram stick in place you will need to remove cage to put in 4 matching or 2 pairs of matching sticks of Ram...

Hope this was what you were looking for...

Sorry.  I thought a poster earlier today in this thread had referred to it being a laptop...
