Hey, I have a laptop acer e1-531g and I have few questions and I need some help... So when I play a game the gpu which is nvidia 710m it gets up to 86 Celsius degrees and cpu up to 85-89 Celsius degrees and the chipset up to 80 degrees I think more... Anyway are these temperatures safe ? I aleardy clean the fan and changed the thermal paste to arctic cooling mx-4.... I double check to be sure I apply it corectly but same thing... And the fan in bios is running wild and fast but when I get those temperatures I doubt it even reach 60%... Can someone answer me or tell me which software for fan controll I missed ? I cannot see any fan with speed fan or hwmonitor... Please help Smiley Sad

Do you have the GPU overclocked?

89c isn't going to shut it down, but you may want to get a good cooling pad.

Did you actually untape the fan from the heatsink? A lot of dirt can build up in between there.

I clean the fan, there is no dust there and I didn't overclock the video card...

Cooling pads don't help much... I doubt it that I get more than 2 degrees lower and i would say the cpu temperature is ok... if it dies i can change it but the problem si the video chip... if it dies i have to change the board...

EDIT: ok i come to another conclusion... i changed the cpu to an i5 2450m... the problem may be that it gets hotter than the b960 that it was original... and the heat its being transfered to the gpu and thats why it gets so hot... so i belive the problem is the heatsink.... it cannot keep up with dissipating heat...if i underclock the cpu to 2.1 ghz i get around 70-74 degrees on both video chip and cpu... im installing GTA V now and i will come with more feedback on temperatures after underclock and play for a bit...  now i need to find a compatible heatsink from another model that have i7 or i7 2nd or 3rd gen... can someone tell me which heatsinks/laptops are compatible with my model ?

more feedback.... i got my hands on a acer e1-571g same specs except it has stock i5 gen 3rd and a dead motherboard... i used the cooling system on mine and i got same results as mine... it looks exactly the same... so im back to same conclusion... the fan is not spinning fast enough... not over 40-60%... please help with this fan... i tried all kind of windowses... windows7, 8.1, 10 same results... please help with this fan thing.. in bios is going full speed and in windows no way to go over 40-60%... i have last bios installed also.. can someone tell me how to downgrade the bios ? it says i have to install versin 2.xx i cannot install 1.xx

Here's one way to control the fan speed.
