Product Registration Error on Acer Website - Invalid Date Format

I just purchased an Aspire v3 notebook and the first thing I did was try to register it via Acer's website.  I typed in the serial number and selected the date of purchase using the pop-up calendar.  The date format is 2012/11/26.  When I click the Register Product button, I receive the following error message:

 

"the entered value should have the format yyyy/mm/dd"

 

It does have the correct date format.

    So in my attempt to contact support, I came across this KB article:

    This KB article links to a completely different product registration page, which does work without error.  Why are there two product registration pages?  That is confusing, there should only be one, and it should work.  Even so, after registerring my product using the link from the KB article, the product still does not show up on the https://account.acer.com page under "Products"

    As you indicate above, they were two completely different registration pages.

     

    The page on support.acer.com that you found is no longer being used.

     

    We appreciate you pointing out the old URL on the KB article and we have updated it to reflect the current registration page.

    Thanks to Phil for editing out the image I posted containing my serial number.

     

    Thanks to Tommy for replying to my post and updating the URL in the KB article.  Unfortunately, my original issue is still occurring - I am unable to register my product on https://account.acer.com because of an invalid date format, even though the date I selected is in the correct format.

     

    Please have your web team look into this issue.

    I am also having the exact same error as above. The date format error even though it is correct. trying to register a tablet.

    Same problem.  Tried different dates... same problem.  Not very helpful.

    Also recieving this issue when trying to register a new laptop. First time acer buyer, support on this isn't looking good so far.

     

    Edit: I found this link - https://support.acer.com/us/en/register/default.aspx?sn=

    to register your product. it was found after clicking on a support option for acer advantage.

    This appears to be working now.  Acer must have fixed it.
