    • Screen will not brighten

    I have an Acer Chromebook 720 who's screen will not brighten.  On start up, I can see a very faint image...enough so that I can log in.  The image is not clear enough to get me to the settings menu.  I have tried the dim/brighten keys on the keyboard.

      This is likely a loose wire connection between the display and the motherboard.  If it is in warranty - send it to Acer for repair.

       

      Assuming your product is out of warranty (so need to repair it yourself rather than send it to Acer) -- you can take  display bezel off and back case to disconnect and reconnect the wires.  This is a fairly common problem we see at our school.

       

      There are many online videos on Acer chromebooks - in terms of instruction on taking them apart.
