Acer Aspire M3920 desktop (4 years old)

Windows 10, build 10586 (latest update)

In the last few days my pc has begun to freeze and the power light start flashing. I have to force my pc to shutdown with power button.

When I start up my pc again it can run ok for 1-30 minutes, then it freeze again and power light starts flashing.

My guess would be that there is a problem with the PSU or mainboard?

Anyone that have any idea what could be the problem?

Or is my computer just finito?

4 years could be very old for a computer or other electronical equipments today. Smiley Happy

let's try to narrow a few things:

    windows logo key + x

    click on Event viewer

    choose WIndows logo - System

check for any Errors or warning around the freezes time, double click it and read about description and please report here if you find something interesting. Smiley Happy

    Hi

After looking at Event Viewer - System, the only Error I could find was this: Kerner-Power (41) 63 Error.

But this error is at the time I forced my computer to shut down with Power button.

There is no other error at the time my computer starts freezing.

I did as you told me.

    No memory error was found.

I forgot to say I installed a SSD (Samsung EVO 850) maybe a month ago. My Win 10 OS and all programs are on the SSD and my HDD is only for backups and storage purpose.

I have been reading on some forums that there have been a bit problem with some SSD's, but Samsung is maybe one of the best SSD's?

850 EVO is a really good one but have you ever checked about firmware updates for your SSD?

sometimes this kind of freeze can happen in old SSD firmwares.

    ok, drivers are updated?

any yellow exclamation mark on Device manager?

freezes without any warning or error messages are hard to fix.

    All drivers should be updated.

No yellow exclamations in Device manager.

Is there any diagnostic tool that can check mainboard or PSU for problems?

By the way, the computer has been ok for many hours now. Earlier today the computer freezed/stoped maybe 10 times in a few hours.

I do not play games or run any heavy programs on my computer.
