I recently purchased the recover discs from the acer store, but I own a tablet.

I ran into a problem while doing an update. And nothing I could find seemed to work. So I purchased the recovery media from the Acer store, after calling the support line, and when it arrived it came as four discs. If I were to use an external disc drive, would that boot the discs to restore my tablet, on an Iconia W-3-810?

The short answer is yes. There are some caveats though. You need the drive to have external power, it might tell you it's working when you hook it up without power, but it won't be able to read the disk. There might be places during the install where you need to cursor up/down or press enter. Since you don't have an actual keyboard you need to use the volume up/down buttons and power for enter.

I have a USB keyboard that has some USB ports on it, would that work to power the drive as well and maybe a mouse?

It'd be great for the mouse, but unlikelyto power the drive. A USB hub with external power should do it though.
