usb ports not working

I have an Acer A510 iconia tab still under warranty since June 2012 the power plug is working but when the micro usb 2.0 cable is plugged it no longer connects to my PC for interchange of information from PC to tablet. I have also purchased a new cable it works with other computers & mobile devices but not with my equipment. I have also reset the Tablet 1/2 dozen times & still does not connect. Should I be taking this to the place of purchase for a refund - please advise

    How did you get on with support from Acer about your problem?

    I have the same problem. When I bought the A510 in October 2012, it came with Android Ice Cream Sandwich v4.0 installed & after downloading & installing the USB driver from Acers web site, onto my Windows 7 laptop, it was able to be seen & work as designed.

     

    The tablet then upgraded itself to Android Jelly Bean v4.1.2 & my Windows 7 no longer sees the tablet.

    I believe this problem is with outdated USB driver & Acer needs to get cracking & fix it.

     

    What do you say Acer Support?

     

    Also, I have another laptop with Windows 8 & the Acer A510 USB driver will not install on it.

    Once again, outdated driver.

    Fix it please Acer!
