Aspire switch 10 E: What about the size of the whole storage?

While reading PCMag's review on Acer Aspire Switch 10 E (SW3-013-11N8), I learn that there are both internal SSD 64 GB and SATA 500 GB drives inside. However, while reading specs concerning Acer Aspire Switch 10 E elsewhere, they claim there is the flash memory inside only, say, in Acer Aspire  Switch 10 E SW3-013-153X and some others. How come, please? Can anybody mention how to differ between them all? - Suppose, the difference is included in the four letters and digits following the string SW3-013-.

The 10E models use  eMMC based storage soldered on the board.

    They all have

    Thanks.

However, the link reads as follows, for instance: Acer SwitchLock™ lets you lock this keyboard dock’s HDD ...

So, is there a HDD (500 Gb?) in the dock inside, i.e. the bottom part of the whole device?

And, is there also a boot SATA HDD in the tablet itsel, say, 64 Gb?

I meant them both as a storage.

I believe the 64gb EMMC is in the tablet and the OS runs off it and the 500GB HDD is in the dock/keyboard and is storage. There is no HDD in the tablet other than the EMMC.

Philetus is correct about the location of the HDD storage. It's only available when the tablet is docked into the keyboard.

As to the coding system used by Acer, they have a master code for each system "family" (e.g., SW5-012 for Switch 10, SW3-013) that have a common physical layout (screen size, etc.) within a given model year.

However, within each "family", Acer makes a number of models with different features (32 vs. 64 GB SSD storage, 2 vs. 4 GB RAM, HDD storage, Windows 8.1 with Bing vs. Windows 10 Home vs. Windows 10 Pro, 120 vs. 240 VAC power supplies, etc.). This is to make it meet the requirements of various global regions, or even requirements of major distributors (Costco, etc.).

As you correctly surmised, cuneiform, the 4 digits/letters following the family code indicates the specific model. I haven't been able to determine a logic for the coding (region, HD storage, OS version, etc.); simply that it's unique for each specific model. I just have to study the Acer country site vs. the Acer global site to determine what features aren't being given to models in my country market, or what models might be limited to specific distributors vs. available online directly from Acer.

Hope that helps answer the other half of your question.

I tried to find out how I could choose a really needed model, but alas neither their price nor specs indicated give evidence for a practical choice. Those are merely very similar and imply no significant difference on a big scale.

Provided the dock HDD 500 Gb is optional, there is no indication where this choice is being offered.

I would also choose a model which would use the WIndows 64 bit system, 64 Gb flash booting drive, have 4 Gb RAM, 3 cell battery. Do these inclinations relate or refer to any real acer family?

Browsing the full view Datasheets, I notice some of them include the 500GB HDD and some of them don't.

That makes me believe that the HDD is optional or N/A on some of them.

True. The more expensive the model, the more voluminous the storage.

However, I'd like to know which family would contain all or at least some features I mentioned above.

Not necessarily the Switch 10 E family.

What is your budget going to be for this?

    Which one?

    The one with Windows;-)

Portability, smaller weight, longer battery life, smaller display size would be more preferable.

Every model Acer has is on that page and they all have Windows.
