Windows 8 Upgrade - Slow WiFi

Hello,

I've recently upgraded my Acer Aspire 5750G to Windows 8. After having to format and do a fresh installation because I was stuck into the "Automatic Repair Loop", I found myself having to re-install all drivers etc.

I went ahead and installed all the necessary drivers, including the Wireless LAN ones. However, I am now getting ridiculously slow speeds when on WiFi. Ethernet works as normal.

I believe it's a Broadcom 802.11 b/g/n card. The website provides drivers for some Atheros card. I installed that, it told me the device was not found, but still installed some Broadcom driver (5.100.245.20).

I've also updated the BIOS to the latest version (1.21).

I don't really know what to do anymore, I've installed and uninstall the drivers many times, tried some old ones from Windows 7, but am still incapitated with very slow transfer rates.

Any help would really be appreciated, because now I'm stuck in the living room using the Ethernet cable!

    Fixed it myself:

I downloaded the Windows 7 Broadcom drivers from the Acer Support website, ran the setup in Windows 7 Compatibility mode (it crashes otherwise) and now my WiFi speeds are back to normal.
