G226HQL vs. Generic PNP Driver

I just purchased a G226HQL for Windows 10.  The monitor does not come with a driver nor does Acer supply a driver via their website.

Windows 10 defaults to the Generic PNP drivers which gives me a maximum resolution of 1280x1024.  Given that the highest resolution is 1920x1090, the image elongated.

Can anyone suggest a work-around that will allow me to use the maximum resolution?

Hi, most monitors these days don`t have drivers associated to them, and default to windows PnP, but from what you are stating of 1280x1024 being your resolution sounds like your using the vga connection, have you tried the dvi connection as to achieve the higher resolution of 1980x1090 of which is the HD resolution you would need the DVI cable and connection.

Thanks for the reply.  Yes, I am using the DMI cable.  The video card I have only has two DMI ports and no other.  If others are getting a better resolution there is something I am overlooking.
