I bought a used acer aspire switch sw5-012-13TT.  I think the previous owner must have made a backup  recovery disk because when I try to make one the only option that comes up is to recover.  It does not offer me the option to make a disk.  How can I make a disk so I have one.

Note: I also have a machine sw5-012-1327.  I was able to make one for this one.  Would it work for both machines if I had to recover my 13TT machine.

i meant, which kind of software you used to create the recovery media?

by the way you can try to use Microsoft tool to create the recovery media:

Sorry about that.  The first switch I bought refurbished and part of the reecovery link was an option to make up a recovery disk of the system in case I ever had to recover the original system and drivers.  I did that with that one which was also a sw5-012-1327.

This one sw5-012-13TT the only option under recovery was to recover from a drive not to make the recovery drive.  No software involved at all it was part of acer software that came with the laptop.

can you check under Disk management if the recovery partition (need to be 6-8GB) is still there on the 13TT?

I felt the same way about the partition being deleted. Sseing the windows key in listed on the Mobo and my other acer sw5-012 is almost exactly the same if I get stuck I'll just have to use that other recovery disk.  Might not ever happen but I've always "cleaned" up my computers every year to get rid of junk.

    I appreciate your help.

I finally went on to Windows recovery option in the control panel and I'm making the recovery disk. Thank you for your help.

    You welcome. Smiley Happy

take care of the size of data on USB flash drive, if it's less than the other you already created, it's not a complete recovery.
