Hi - I recently bought the Acer Nitro VN7-591G-70RT and have a few questions regarding the SSD upgrades

1) M.2 SSD : Can any M.2 SSD fit into the SSD slot, i believe the length of the SSD should be 3.15 inches, however can someone please confirm if the below SSD is compatible on my Acer laptop.

http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-850-EVO-250-MZ-N5E250BW/dp/B00TGIVZTW/ref=sr_1_1?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1441390580&sr=1-1&keywords=M.2+SSD

2) Ram upgrade : As the ram upgrade is pretty tough involcing removing of the entire motherboard, does anyone have a video guide I can refer.

3) 2.5 INCH SATA SSD : Sometime down the line, I will be upgrading the HDD to SSD, do i need to consider any particular SSD ? or will and SATA III SSD will work.

    Hello,

Will M.2 PCI-e work ? or is it only M.2 SATA III. Will the product on the amazon link be compatible ?

    1. M.2 SATA III (SATA 6Gb/s Interface, compatible with SATA 3Gb/s & SATA 1.5Gb/s interface)

Hello, I have that same model.

I installed a Samsung 850 EVO M.2 SSD (500GB), from the samsung site I downloaded a cloning software so I could get the OS to boot from the SSD. The OS booted in just 6 seconds (with the HDD is about 25-30 secs) But seems the OS was a bit corrupted and was getting some errors. So I had to do a fresh OS install on the SSD. After that, the OS boots in around 11 secs. Had to install all the drivers again from the support page.

Then I got the WiFi problems these laptops suffer. Searching I found that the drivers of the "killer wireless ac 1525" worked fine and didnt give me the wifi issues. Its tricky to install these drivers, these are just for the wifi, so the bluetooth wont work, but I dont use bluetooth anyways.

    Hope this helps

My Wifi works fine, however I'm having issues with the battery life, with just around 2hrs of battery life when surfing and watching youtube videos ocassionally.

Yep, the battery life is just about 2 hours because of the powerfull CPU

can you please go to the wifi drivers properties and tell me the version and date of driver? a screen capture would be fine.

I didn´t have any issues either till I had to install de drivers again.
