No sound from my B286HK

I have a B286HK using the DisplayPort set at 3840 x 2160

Im running Windows 7.1 ultimate on a Z97-AR  Intel i7-4790k board with HD4600 graphics

I have the monitor driver.

I have tried both the TRS audio cable and audio through the Displayport but nothing.

Audio worked on my previous monitor (using DVI and a seperate audio cable)

I have removed power from the monitor a few times as well as rebooted my computer and also checked to make sure I have the latest Intel and Reaktek HD audio drivers.

What is wrong?

Thanks

Darrin

    darrink1,

You might need to check and see in the sound options (playback devices) and have the speakers pointed to the monitor.

I upgraded to windows 10. The sound is now coming through the displayport to the monitor, but its not consistant. Very strange.

If I play audio from itunes or youtube, I can hear it after a brief delay.

If I click on the volume adjustment from the windows 10 tray, I dont hear the Windows "ding". But if I am playing audio (from itunes or youtube) and I click on the volume adjustment from the tray, now, I will hear the "ding".

very strange.I cannot tell if its the displayport software or the monitor firmware. I have the latest drivers for the audio from asus and the latest video drives from Intel. I think the B286hk has firmware issues with audio over displayport and apparently there is no way to have the monitor use the "line in" TRS plug to overide displayport audio ?

    darrink1,

In playback options you will be able to manually set what plays to what. If you would rather the PC audio cable push the sound and not the Display Port, just set it up that way. Smiley Happy

I had tried doing just that (select the Reaktek audio output instead of the Displayport audio) and it did not work.

But, I now have Displayport audio working correctly, I found the problem:

Intel win64_154004.2.exe latest windows 10 display driver comes with an update to the Display audio driver as well.  But the new Display Audio driver is bad.

Only Display Audio driver version 6.16.0.3154  will work (I had to download an older intel driver package and manually update just the Display audio driver to this older version). The new Video driver is OK, just the audio driver part of the 154004.2 package is bad.
