Window updates not installing

I have a relatively new AXC-603G (bought in Dec. set up in Jan).  all was well for 4 months, then suddenly all the Window updates would not install.  Of course, being the procastinator I am, I did nothing until 10 days ago when the whole thing went bonkers.  I took it to the computer guru, who didn't know what was wrong but was able to get the updates to work, which they did. For 3 days.  Now they won't install again.  Before I call him tomorrow (and probably Acer later in the day), has anyone else experienced this and how did you correct it?  Thanks.

If you are running windows 8.1, I have had this problem.  The solution is to go to settings > update > change settings to DO NOT install auto updates.  Disable all options that relate to auto update.  When you have done this, and you heard me right.... switch off and stop all auto windows updates and the settings that relate to auto update.... restart your pc.

Wait for your computer to boot up fully again then go to search > settings > windows update > manually search for updates.  You should find that your pc will now work and install all the updates that you have so far not been able to get.  If you are now able to get the updates, you can change your settings back to Auto again if you so wish.  It is a fault with the windows update Kb800 association.  I did a lot of google to work this out for myself.

If all else fails, download the windows update repair tool and run accordingly.

    Hope this helps. Fingers x
