Recovery will not complete w500p

I have recently purchased a used Iconia W500P tablet. I purchased the recovery media from the Acer store. THE RECOVERY WILL NOT COMPLETE and my husband is ready to break the tablet in half. It gets to 99% on updating system and just freezes.

    Sorry that you are unable to complete Recovery, but if its struck, what happens if you restart the unit, usually that should help, have you tried?

    I have. I did a hard shut down and let it go ahead and start installing like it had completed. It then goes through installing all devices and starts doing the 35 different installations. It make it to 27/35 in cleanup and locks up again. After another hard shutdown, it will finally start, but the touchscreen does not work. It worked before I did the restore. I just wanted to start with factory settings and get rid of the ***** the previous owner had loaded on the tablet.

    Holy cow....i am having the exact same problems...all that you have described happened to me as well. i would really like to know if you find a solution. i have tried many things...i noticed that the monitor is only being described as a generic pnp. I think that might be a problem because when i try to update the touch driver is has a problem...if I figure it out first i will text you.
