It's the Iconia one 8. It's rubbish.

I just bought a (certified refurbished) iconia tablet and it wont stay charged either. What did the techs say about your tablet problem?

Not much. Technical jargon. It's not that it won't stay charged, it won't charge to start with. A picture comes on the screen depicting a tablet with the charging cable plugged into the device and the plug lying on the tablet. They even asked me (online cos you can't actually SPEAK to someone) if I had tried plugging it into another plug socket. How patronising.

Did you buy it new or refurbished? I think I'm going to need to send mine back. Still can't get it to authenticate (to wifi) or stay charged either.

Hi Kellarlin. It was brand new. In hindsight I should of taken it back to Currys. It has been on charge all last night, and the battery actually went DOWN. From 53% to 21%.

That sounds like the charger isn't setup for fast charge (2A IIRC). The Acer power adapter has some special magic to tell the tablet to pull a full charge level, without that it does a maintanence charge (500mA) which will hold you fairly constant unless you are taxing the processor. If you have a runaway process sucking energy and the smaller charge level it would act as yours is.

There are some third party chargers that work well if you can't find the stock charger.
