A700 won't reboot, has fastboot USB download protocol at top of screen even after pressing reset.

A700 won't reboot, says "fastboot USB download protocol" at top of screen even after pressing reset button.  Even if I wanted to reset to factory default, which I don't want to do, no menu comes up to allow me to do this.  I have tried the power and volume down up process numerous times and it always comes back to this screen.  Also it is getting pretty warm in lower right corner even though I can't use it at all.  HELP!!!!

have you tried to change the lock screen switch when pressing power button and volume down?

check also this list of button combinations:

Thank you for the advice, unfortunately it is not helping, every time I try any option or combination of buttons etc it always says "booting failed", then next line says "starting fastboot USB download protocol", but it never progresses from there. If I do the button combos for the fastboot option, it no longer reads booting failed, but it still says starting fast boot protocol and still does nothing. I'm beginning to despair and worry that after 2.5yrs my $400 tablet needs to be replaced; the thought is making me feel ill.

i think that the only option to try to recovery your A700 is to find "somewhere" (we can't talk about this things here) a package called EUU that will work even in fastboot mode.

this will re-install your OS rom scratch, so you can't recovery any personal data.

if this doesn't work too.....there's an hardware problem.

I have the same issue - could you send me more information? (I'm new here so I can't message anyone yet).

It's a great tablet and I hate to loose it.

    Thanks!

    Hi EricW,
Sorry to say that I tried every solution I could find, here and elsewhere - to no avail. Sadly I had to give up on it, and I bit the bullet and bought a samsung and have been very pleased with it. Sorry, I know you were hoping for good news...good luck...
