Switch 12 Keyboard - left mouse button disconnects

A new problem started - the left mouse button regularly fails to work. It resumes working after I turn the keyboard connector switch on and off.

It's very regular, happens every 5-10 mins, so very annoying.

Strangely, the keyboard and right mouse button continues to work even when the left button doesn't work.

Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks!

Boy, that one has me stumped... If it were a mechanical problem, like a loose cable connector, you would expect it to happen either totally randomly or always. If it were software it shouldn't fix by just power cycling the keyboard. I'm leaning toward the latter though. Next time see if you can turn off, then back on, bluetooth. That would potentially tell us that it's the computer side of the bluetooth connection that's acting up rather than an issue within the keyboard itself.

Many thanks for trying to understand the problem.

I'm pretty sure it's a software problem as the button works after turning the keyboard off and on.

The connection is not bluetooth but a proprietary wireless (keyboard remains connected when you turn bluetooth on or off). There is a hardware button on the keyboard to turn it on and off but I don't know of any setting in the pc to turn the connection to the keyboard on or off, so I guess it's always on.

    Any more ideas?

    Thanks again.

I believe the keyboard is listed in Device Manager under 'Keyboards'. Smiley Happy Mine shows two of them. Try uninstalling both of them, verify the keyboard isn't working, then reboot so they get reinstalled. Maybe that will fix it.

Is the keyboard fully charged ? (It only charges when in the back and the 12 is plugged in which is kinda dumb. Also there is no indication of keyboard battery condition that I have found. Light on keyboard does show orange when charging.

I did this and the system crashed for some reason...not normal.

After using trouble shooting it restored my usb, bluetooth and keyboard.

Now everything back to normal, except for the original problem of the left mouse button!

Yes, charged. As I said, everything works except one button - need to turn the keyboard off/on for the button to resume working.

Sounds like time to escalate to Acer support... Please let us know what they find though, it's pretty weird.

Just before I had resolved to refresh the tablet the problem went away!

I have been trying to solve the problem with various driver re-installs and running troubleshooting under the Control Panel but nothing seemed to work.

I'm afraid I can't share with you how the problem came or went away but I'm very happy everything's back to normal and I can enjoy using the keyboard like normal.

Thanks again eeryone for your advice, until next time...
