Function key plus arrow keys do not work. My husband installed a program that gives some control. But that should not be a permanent solution. Please help.

    It would be helpful if you mention the model number of your computer.
    Is your computer shipped with windows 7 or 8.1?
    Are you able to adjust the audio volume using the arrow key?

    Thanks for coming back to me so quickly!

    The Acer model is Aspire E 15 ... E5-521-66SN

    It runs Windows 8.1 or perhaps higher, as MS is always adding upgrades.

    The sound Fn with up and down arrow keys is working.

    The laptop is less than 6 months old. The problem occured rather suddenly, when I turned on the laptop.

    I am Gertrud's husband. Since her Acer laptop screen is so dim that she can hardly read her emails, she forwarded your messages to ****

    To speed things up, I would appreciate if you can mail your solution.

     

    I can log in to your acer help site. As I said in the previous email, the Acer laptop is only 6 months old. I bought it for her at the Source in Vernon.
