app selection guidance?

I recently removed, uninstalled, stopped as many apps as I could in an effort to get in incompatible app to run on my Acer One 7, B1-730 HD. Now I need to rebuild things. I realize that nessasary apps did not unistall. But I want to make sure the apps I bring back are needed and useful.  I realize this depends on how I am using the tablet, but am hoping to get some guidance on selecting apps to reinstall.

I am a newbie to tablets so I appologise if my termanology is incorrect.

I plan to use the tablet for audio recording and controlling a digital mixer via wifi. I of course will have the apps to do that.

I plan to use dropbox for my cloud file sharing app.

I kept Mcaffe for my Security app

Any other apps that "needed" to run safe, reliable tablet.

as fa as i know, those applications are installed by default, this means that they are in system folder, so you can't uninstall.

you can check it, tapping on the application on applications list and look if any uninstall option is available.

you can disable most of them.

I am looking thru my apps and see 107 apps and 32 widgets.

It looks like the apps fall into categorys: Downloaded, Running, Running in background and disabled.

If I look at "all" apps I see many that don't seem to fall into the groups described above.

I presume unneeded/ unwanted apps take up Ram and hardrive space, correct?

I will try to list my apps in hopes someone can help me sift thru them and figure out what they do so I can weed out the unneeded apps. I will start with disabled, I presume if I go a few months without needing them I can delete them somehow?

thanks, If I can't uninstall them I presume disabling them frees up RAM. Correct?

    Yes about free ram.

Amazon kindle is an ereader that can handle pdf, i prefer adobe reader.
Google keyboard is my preferred keyboard but i don't remember if Acer's tablet use it as default or use Swipe.
About Google Play apps, you need only "services" since you will not able to use Google application and Google Play to download apps.

It is possible for you to uninstall most of them if you have root, keep in mind that doing so may void your warranty but if you have a case on your tablet or feel like you can protect your device, and don't need the warranty then you can root and use titanium backup to uninstall some preloaded apps.

Some of those are actually removable while some are important to keeping your device working properly, removing those apps requires you to have a rooted device which you can look up on by yourself since rooting isn't allowed too be talked about here.

    Hi McJoe,

Acer BYOC Apps(Acer cloud) can help you Build Your Own Cloud using your own devices.

Such as abPhoto, you can use the Auto backup feature in abPhoto to automatically sync the photos you take on a mobile device to all your other devices. It’s a very safe and convenient app, and it can save your free storage. Please refer to the Tutorial video to find how to use abPhoto.
