ACER Aspire R7: Problem with touchscreen

Hi,

I have an ACER Aspire R7 win8.1 and I have a problem with the touchscreen.

The touchscreen is scrolling up and down by iself out of control, without touching it.

I run anti-virus and anti-malware and everything seems normal.

I finally disable the touchscreen in system and everything is fine using the mouse.

Is somebody has any suggestions how to fix this problem?

Thanks

JohnB1

Have you tried loading the latest drivers from Acer's website?

Does everything look ok in Device Manager (No red X's or exclamation marks)?

It could just be a hardware problem with the touchscreen and may need repair.

    Thanks a lot Clyde

    John,

Did you ever find a solution to this problem?  I'm having the same issue.

    Cheers,

    Jeff

We've been experiencing the same "jumping cursor" problem with our Aspire R7 (purchased Spring 2014) and urgently need a solution, if anyone has one. It's not accidental touches on the touchpad, as that's above the keyboard on the R7. We're a few days off warranty and Acer Support won't talk to us!

After some additional searching, I just found this other topic which has what sounds like a promising solution--downloading drivers from N-trig, instead of from Acer:

I'll test it out as soon as I can solve some other problems on the R7.

It appears to have solved the problem.
