Computer turns off, but doesn't stop drawing power

Unless you buy a computer every year, Acer will charge you, ontop of your long distance charge if you have tech issues.

I have a AM3920-E4002u, I got it back in 2011, and has been working just fine till now. Recently it has been doing as the title says: "Computer turns off, but doesn't stop drawing power". I found a board where another user found the issue was that he was booting onto a clone HDD instead of a Factory HDD, but I don't speak spanish, so I don't know what a clone HDD or Factory HDD is... If anyone knows how to fix that, that's the issue. My issue acording to the spanish speaking dude is that I need to have it boot off the Factory HDD instead.

Factoy HDD is the hard disk that is the orginal hard disk  shipped from factroy.
Clone HDD is the second hard disk that you use to clone the orginal hard disk.
Disk cloning is the process of copying the contents of one computer hard disk to another disk or to an "image" file.

This issue is not related to using a factory HDD or Clone HDD.
You may check this issue by performing a power drain.

Turn off computer and unplug power cord.
Disconnect everything except monitor, mouse and keyboard.
Press power button and hold for 10 to 15 seconds.
Plug power cord back into computer and press power button.
Check front panel LEDs (lights) on bezel (front face) or optical drives and listen for power supply fan.
If LEDs are on or power supply fan starts spinning, watch for boot screen on monitor.
If computer begins to start, turn it off.
    Reconnect any external devices.
Press the power button and make sure the computer starts.

Okay, did that. And it is still sucking power.

How much power is it using?  "Sucking power" is a humerous, colorful expression, but it doesn't give any meaningful information.

I am not sure. I do not pay for the electricity so I dont know how much, but after powering down, my fan, keyboard (back lit) mouse, monitor, webcam, speakers and of couse, power indicator all remain on.
There is also no sound difference between being on, and off.

    Try chkdsk:

I assume you have an updated antivirus program on your computer.

You can also try a clean boot.

Nothing. The computer is still sucking. I am able to stop it from sucking by pressing and holding the power button for 5 seconds.

Also, here is my Dx Diagnostic if this is of any use. I can't put in this, so I will in the post below.

Windows 10 technical preview?  That probably explains it.

Try disabling windows fast startup.  Or use the operating system that came with your computer. Smiley Wink

Not upgrading can cause issues with viruses. I dought windows 10 is the issue, asno other user has reported it. As for your solution, still nothing. Is thereba way to work around the blockage that is my 1 year warranty? I dont want to pay for tech support.

Huh? Windows 10 Technical Preview is for advanced users. At this time, it's not an upgrade. It hasn't been released to the general public yet. It should be installed by advanced users that are looking to provide feedback to Microsoft. There's lots of WARNINGS on the download page that advise you not to download or use Windows 10 Technical Preview unless you're an advanced user.

So unless you have a backup of your original operating system that came with the computer, you'll need to call Acer and get your original system disks that came with your computer. I'm not sure how much they cost. Of course, I'm making an assumption that you wiped out your recovery partition when you installed Windows 10 Technical Preview.

Don't install Windows 10 until it's been released to the General Public.

If you don't have the money at this time to buy your system disks from Acer, I guess you could try to install Windows 10 Technical Preview again....the latest release.

Here's the recovery support page (for U.S.). If you're not in U.S. , you'll probably want to choose your country.

Okay, I do not wish to be judged on my os usage, this issue happened even when on window 8. Lets stick to the point. Windows 10 is not the issue.
