h340 Cannot access it on network

For some reason, I can no longer access my H340 server on a network.  I know its IP (it is fixed), but cannot get access to the hard drive, even to reset it.  I tried to reset the server using the disk and paper clip but it WILL NOT respond.  Is there any way to fix this??  Can I remove the hard drive and access the files??  I am not very computer savvy, but have tried everything I could think of.

    Hello Pmaclell,

First things to check , to see if you have LED lights blinking on the onboard NIC port[ located on the upper left and right part of the port. These should blink back and forth amber and green]. This also can be check on the front panel indicators lights. If there isn’t a connection at this time, you can remove each HDD [if you have more than one installed] and install it in a desktop or a HDD dock one at a time. The data will be scattered and you may or may not be to retrieve it.

    Thanks for the response, Fletcher.

I just now got access to the server.  The lights on the NIC port are both green (one blinking), but the "i" on the front of the server is stady red.

That said, I got some help and was able to get access on the LAN but not over the NET.  Problem was (we think) is that I manually set the IP configuration (in the remote setup ) and the modem could not locate the server address.  That is now solved but still no on-line (internet) access.

Incidently, the server would NOT allow me access to any of the files after the server recovery.  I could see the directories, but could not get access to the files.  I did have administration rights.  However, when I went to windows explorer, I looked under "Microsoft Windows Network/workgroup/'server name" and there were all of the files.  I am busy copying them now before the server tries to give me a hard time again.  Not sure if that is a very standard method of accessing the files but it worked and may work for someone else in the same situation.

By the way, I did remove the back-up HDD and was able to see and retrieve all files from it quite easily.  However, the last backup was 4 months ago and of course those files weren't there and are the ones I am now recovering.

Again, thanks for the response.  I will keep trying to get internet access to it but not hopeful.
