I received my Acer Iconia One 7 (B1 740) yesterday and I noticed that the WIFI disconnects when put on Sleep Mode or when the screen is locked. This is a problem for me because I need the tablet to be connected to the internet at all times.

Anyone know how to fix this?

    I don't own a One 7 but:

system settings/wifi (tap on the label not on the switch)

in the bottom right or top right, you will notice 3 dots, tap them and tap Advanced.

you will probably find an option about "keep wifi on during sleep" or something similar, set to "always".

hey! thanks for the feedback Smiley Happy Unfortunately, I don't seem to see that option.. When I tap on Advanced, I only see Notify Me when an Open Connection is Available, the MAC and IP addresses. It's so frustrating.. I can't even find the power saver option. I've been trying to find it in hopes that I might be able to fix the WIFI conectivity issue there..

I get Forget Network and Modify Network. When I tap on Modify, I only get Proxy Settings and IP settings on the Advanced Option...

Still no luck.. Smiley Sad Thanks for all your help anyway. I want to do a system restore but I'm not sure if that will help with anything.. Would you recommend it?

So I finally got a reply from Acer and they've informed me that the B1 740 does not support WIFI connection when in Sleep Mode or when screen is locked. that's ridiculous if you ask me but  I suppose it's to save on battery power as the battery life on this thing is pretty bleh. Too bad I can't return it as I only got it for free from a mobile WIFI plan I subscribed to. Oh well..

I too have an Iconia One 7 and it likewise refused to remember WiFi passwords.  I spent a fair amount of time trying various solutions proffered by various users (the problem can be found in a number of Android forums and is not isolated to this device).

Only one solution worked for me:

    1) I performed a factory reset on the tablet, and

    2) During tablet initialization, I chose a different device name.  For example, my previous device name was "Joe User" and during init I opted for "User Family".  These names are fake, but you get the idea.

Now my tablet remembers the WiFi password after it wakes up from sleep and after a restart (no special WiFi setting change required).  There is apparently a "scenario" (bug :-) ) that causes the file which stores WiFi passwords to either become corrupt or readonly.  Once this file becomes "wedged", your choices are to root the device (become admin) and fix the file or just start over (factory reset).

Nota Bene:  it goes without saying that you'll lose all installed apps and user-created data (pics, contacts, etc.) during the factory reset.

    Hope this helps.

Hi,I received my Acer Iconia One 7 B1-770 last year in white. When I sign in on the services app (where you add accounts), It says "We cannot establish Google Servers, please try again later". Please help me on this, I only had it for a year, Cheers, Jason Wainwright
