Brand new A1-850

I have been looking around for cases and such for the tablet I picked up yesterday from best buy. Does the A1-850 not exist? It doesn't seem to be listed on Acer's website as a product. Maybe its just the best buy version so they can say they're the only ones with this model. Anyone know if the 850 is the same as the 840 or 830 or one of those as far as the cases go? Found some on amazon and they seem to loom fairly similar. Thanks for the input in advance.

The 830 is different than the 840 and also apparently best buy is the only website that lists this as the 850 but its just the 840 model probably a minor mistake the "850" is just the 840 model but the HD variant as far as I'm concerned.

Hope this confusion didn't cause much of a problem and hope what I said answered your problem.

The 850 doesn't have HDMI out port which the 840 has. Also the chip is a later iteration than the 840

Great, thanks for the help. Yeah, I'm not too concerned about the HDMI out and everything. Just wondering if the actual body of the device is the same as the 840 so that if I buy an 840 case, it'll fit my 850.

No. I have the same problem. The location of the camera is different so a 840 case would cover it up. I had bought a 840 and returned it, then bought the 850 . I think the 850 is snappier and doesn't crash as much.

I haven't found a suitable case anywhere (Amazon, eBay) so I finally bought this one which I use for protection duriing travel and as a stand on a desk.

Well there does appear to be an 850 model but its really not as known as the main 840 models i just searched it up on youtube and only one video came up and the guy uploaded that video on the 10th of this month, appearently the only differences I see is it has one long speaker in the bottom back like the 840 models (except they have 2 small speakers) and the rear camera isnt in the middle of the back but more to the side like an ipad mini rear camera, the specs say it has a z3745G intel atom processor vs the z3745 processor in the 840FHD model and the z3735G processor in the 840HD model but since i cant find no intel website or any other website claiming that to be a REAL processor I am going to assume its a mistake and that its just the z3735G like in the 840HD model, other than that theres no difference everything is the same as the 840HD model same speed and everything except the details I have just mentioned(the camera and speakers) hell it even sells at the same price as the 840HD model, seeing this it will probably be hard to find a case for this model unless you use an ipad mini case or something, but at least now we know its real, Acer did this before with the first A1 device the 810 when it realeased a 3G model the 811 but its listed on its website but you wont find it no where except ebay its sold for over $300 last time I checked, but yeah.

I hope I solved you guys questions!

Hi. I had the same problem until I read in another forum that the case from B1-810 fits. I gave it a shot and ordered one from amazon and they were correct. The camera hole and all other slots match up perfectly. Hope it helps Smiley Happy
