I am in the same boat. Wondering why they have put an audio jack on the back if the monitor has no speakers?

Also getting a lot of ghosting with scrolling text/mouse pointer. Are you??

Same issue here - no audio. Mine is the Acer FT220HQ monitor.

Are you sure you don't get a corona / Halo effect when you move your cursor or other things?

    Check this test. http://www.testufo.com/#test=ghosting&background=004040&separation=1000&pps=960&pursuit=0

If you see a pale glow around one of the UFO's then you are getting it.

It seems to be very common with this particular monitor. Check here http://www.overclock.net/t/1486330/acer-g246hl-ghosting-quite-noticeably-normal-anyone-else-got-this-screen

Currently waiting for an RMA to send mine back. Apparently its because Acer have set the overdrive setting far too high and there is no way to change it outside of the factory.

And about the speakers... they didn't fit any. Apparently they just used the same case as another model which had them.

You are right, At first I did not notice and now my eyes hurt because of this ghosting.

I am sorry to hear that.. I was hoping you were lucky and somehow ended up with a fully working one!

You can dampen the ghosting by lowering the colour temp settings from their default 100R, 100G, 100B to something around 40-50 each. The lower the better and then try to compensate for the dullness with the brightness/contrast settings. But It is still quite noticeable and as you said.. once you notice it the first time you are constantly looking for it Smiley Sad

Hopefully you are also within your RMA period and can get a refund. I wouldn't bother with an exchange though.. it seems everyone I speak to about it has the same trouble. Its a shame because apart from this overdrive problem, the monitor is very good.

Acer really messed up with this model it seems.

    Cheers!

Well if you live in the UK you are still entitled to return your item within the "cooling off period" usually 7-14 days. As long as you got a receipt.
I think America have a similar thing but I'm not sure.

And I meant lower the colour temps not the brightness. It is under the brightness/contrast setting and says "color temp warm" as default. Change it to color temp user then press enter and it gives you 3 colour bars and by default are all at 100%. Try lowering them to 40 or 50 and it will help reduce the ghosting.
