Switch 10 Resolution-1920x1200 or 1280x800?

On this Acer page:

http://us.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/series/aspireswitch10

under "A Spectacular View" it says the resolutuon is 1920x1200 but all the switch 10 specs say the resolution is 1280x800.  Which one is it?  Is there a Switch 10 with 1920x1200 resolution?  Is that a typo?

Some of the newer Switch products do have higher resolution models. Maybe they are getting them confused... Note the footnote, "specifications vary".

Except that virtually every current Switch 10 product says 1280x800 in the summary and specs except the older and no longer available SW5-011-11JE which says 1366x768.  The link in my previous post is specifically for the Switch 10 products.

"the Aspire Switch 10 is a stunning device you will want to share. Full HD1 (1920 x 1200) display..."

I guess what they're really saying is that the Switch 10 has "Full HD (1920x1200) but actually doesn't because it's other models (not the Switch 10 series) that has full HD."  Absolute nonsense.

They also have 2 64bit O/S versions, a 32GB and 64GB but all the spec sheets say "32bit Architecture".  I think the Acer people just don't care what their webpages say. Typical.

It is also possible that some SKUs not availab;le in the US do have the higher resolution, or that we'll see a product announcement soon with some that do here in the US. Smiley Happy

It wouldn't be the first time a web site led the way...

I am confused by this as well. My guess is that they are available in EU, but not NA. It doesn't help that Acer has so many different models on their website with an extremely obtuse summary for each. They really should correct the desciption the OP mentioned or update their SKUs.

I would have already purchased the Switch 10 if I could confirm it has 1920x1200 display in the US. At this point, I am leaning towards Asus...

    a) Did you mean 1920x1080 ? That is common.

    b) My Switch 12 and some Switch 11s do have 1920x1080 displays

    c) Even my old W510 can do 1920x1080 on an external monitor, just not on its own.

No, if you read the description for the Switch 10 mentioned by the OP it states 1920x1200 (slightly diff aspect ratio than typical FHD displays). However, all the summaries for each model only shows 1280x800.

This is for the Switch 10. The larger versions have options for FHD.

    Hi

    I just bought a switch 10 with 1920x1200 resolution so I can confirm that's not a typo :-)

The full model designation is SW5-012-18SA, it comes with 32Go eMMC and 500go HDD builtin the keyboard.

Can you provide a direct link to it on Acer's website or where you purchased it from? I can't find it anywhere. Did you buy it in the US?

    Thanks for the reply.

I bought in France from an online reseller named RueduCommerce (269€, about 290$)

This model is also knew under the designation NT.L6HEF.006

The link from the French Acer site : Switch 10 1920x1200

Yeah, seems to be available in Europe, but not North American markets. Thanks again for the feedback.

I suspect that the graphics card is capable of 1920x1200 but that will require an external monitor. The built in display is only capable of 1280x800. That is the case with both my W3 and W510.

Is part of the reason a well equipped switch 11 or 12 is nearly double the price you paid for a 10, they have a 1920x1080 built in display.

I want native 1080p (or 1900x1200) IPS. External video is not a concern really.

Well, I guess we in the U.S. don't get the goodies on this yet.  I wonder if I can order one from a Euro source and get it in U.S. English.  Actually, I do speak 7 languages quite fluently.  Other than English, I speak American, Canadian, British, Irish, Scottish and Australian.  And quite fluently I don't mind saying.  But I do prefer English.
