Switch 10 Power & Volume Button Problems

I've had my Switch 10 for several months now. I didn't have any problems till last week when weird things started to happen:

1. The light indicator in the Power switch suddenly stopped working. Plugged/Unplugged, on/off, the light is always off.

2. When the unit is on. the power button doesn't work. I checked in the power settings and have tried assigning "Shut Down" and "Sleep" to the power button, but it still won't work.

3. The Volume buttons stopped working normally. To change the volume, I have to hold the power button and press the volume buttons, And when I do this, the volume buttons are reversed. When I press Volume-Up, the volume goes down, and vice-versa.

4. When I shut down the device, I cannot turn it on normally. To turn it on, I have to connect the AC adapter (it won't turn on with out hr adapter), and press the Power and volume button simultaneously. But I don't have to press it long, just a quick press for a second.

Who else experienced something similar?

Any help?

There is a patch file released to fix this issue.

Could you please provide me the exact model number of the unit, so that I can provide you the exact patch file?

I have a similar problem. I got a new replacement from acer, and it had this problem from the start. At first, the volume down button and power indicator did not work. After I clicked the volume buttons a couple of times, they started magically working again. Fast forward about an hour... all of the buttons stopped working. Is there a patch for this? If so where can I get it?

The patch files are available at our "Drivers and Downloads" page.

    The web link is http://us.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/drivers

Please select  " select my product from a list " option in that page.

There, click on "Notebook" under "Group" section and then "Aspire Switch 10" under the "Series" section.

Then, under "Products", select your model number.

You will see the drivers listed under that.

There, you have to click on the "Patch" tab for viewing the patch files.

Please click on the "Download" option across that patch file for downloading it.

After downloading, you have to install that patch file.

I have installed both of these patches and I still have the issue. Once in a while the buttons will work, but they don't most of the time which is a huge inconvenience.

In this case, I suggest you to update the BIOS in your tablet by dowenloading  the latest BIOS in the same "Drivers and Downloads" page.

I tried installing both BIOS, but one said it was the same version and the other was older.
