Acer Aspire V5-122p microphone suddenly stopped working

Hi i have the Acer Aspire V5-122p, the built in microphone in the laptop was working fine although yesterday it stopped working. Windows is not showing any problems with the audio, when i go into recording devices the microphone is not disabled and it says there is no problems with this device. I also tried reinstalling the realtek audio device but that didn't help either. I tried to changing the microphone settings in skype although nothing helps. Anyone had the same problem? Any idea what i could do to fix this problem?
