Does the Switch 10 support UHS?

Hello,

I am going to purchase an Aspire Switch 10 soon, and in anticipation of that, I was going to purchase a 64 GB microSD card for it. I was wondering if the Switch 10 supported the UHS speed class or not. I looked at the product manual online, but it does not specify the speed class supported. As neither the manual nor the website mention UHS speed class support, I'm assuming it doesn't support UHS. But, I thought I'd reach out to the community to see if anyone had any knowledge of this. =)

Thanks!

    spiffus,

Both of those systems list the card reader as just MicroSD. The SW5-271 shows that it supports SDXC, which will read the UHS cards, but not run at that speed; if I understand the compatibility correctly.

    spiffus,

What's the exact model you were looking at getting so I can try and get you an answer?

    Hi Justin,

I am looking at the Switch 10 SW5-012-1327. Alternatively, if finances allow, I am also considering the Switch 11 SW5-171-325N. Do either or both of these support UHS?

Thank you very much for your help!

Interesting. I looked at the specs for both models again at Acer's website directly (to make sure I haven't lost my mind Smiley Happy) and it has this listed under "Memory Card Supported":microSD
    microSD Extended Capacity (microSDXC)

Do you know if that is correct?

Either way, thank you for your help! I was reading the specs the same way you were, namely that the card reader would recognize the microSD card if it is UHS, but that the system doesn't appear to support the UHS spec itself so it would run at SDXC speeds. Thank you for the confirmation. Smiley Happy

    spiffus,

You are correct, our site does say that. I was checking something else and it didn't specify the actual supported card types, but I'll agree that the card reader supports SDXC and that our research about speeds is probably spot on.

I have a Switch 12 with a "PNY Turbo Performance 64GB High Speed MicroSDXC Class 10 UHS-1 Up to 90MB/sec " and the Crystal Disk Mark is 27.53 MB/s read and 26.14 MB/s write (seq).
