So,  I upgraded the ram to the Kingston 4GB,  But when i go to properties on My computer,  it  now says 4,00GB but i noticed that it still says 1.88GB usable, am i missing something ?.   Also when i go to MSconfig and go to the max memory option i can now move the numbers up to 4096 instead of 2096 that was before with the 2GB, So after changing that number to 4096 now that i have 4GB, it asks me to restart so i do,  then when i check on it again, the number for some reason is on 0.  What is going on?

Update:  Nevermind i figured it out.

    Espodude,

I can only tell you my experiences with my Aspire. I personally would not use the Crucial link you posted as it is only DDR3. You need DDR3L 1.35v  .

I would recommend Kingston Hyper X

It is DD3L and 1.35v CL9 that Acer wants in there aspire's. Not to mention They use Kingston ram in there laptop's.

I recently did my upgrade in my Aspire E5-721 with this Ram and a Samsung 250gig SSD and it went Flawlessly. I'm VERY HAPPY with the results.

Thank you guys for your replies so far,  Nuclear,  it seems that your laptop is very different than mine,  I have the small 11.6 E11, and the mainchip is probably half the size of yours haha.  I saw the link you sent me, that ram does sound better for my laptop,  but i am not planning on speding $70 dollars on a laptop that cost me $180,  having  said that,  i am very interested on getting this ram though, which is the 4GB one  http://www.amazon.com/Kingston-HyperX-Impact-1600MHz-HX316LS9IB/dp/B00KQCOSLY/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1424740697&sr=8-2&keywords=4gb+kingston+ddr3l

And are you sure this ram will work with my laptop?

    Thanks again.

Yes in theory that ram will work. I looked at your specs for your CPU (celeron processor N2840).

     http://ark.intel.com/products/82103/Intel-Celeron-Processor-N2840-1M-Cache-up-to-2_58-GHz

Your memory runs at 1333mhz so the 4gig Hyper X DDR3L 1600mhz 1.35v CL9 memory (the link you posted) would downclock automatically to your default speed. It may even tighten the timings for better performance.

BTW you only have one SODimm slot for memory Smiley Wink so stick to buying one stick of memory (4gig or 8gig) .

For me to tell you for sure ....... I can't, I don't own that model of Acer. Sorry
