Screen on aspire E1-522 is dark but I can see desktop very faintly. do I need to change the back light or inverter and if so, are there any tutorials or videos around to help with this.

Thank you,

    The ASPIRE E1-522-5460 says this:

Attention: This is an LED backlit screen it does not use an inverter. Your screen might have an extra connector which has to be plugged in. LED and CCFL screen are not interchangeable.

    What is your model?

try to adjust first if the Fn+brightness key is working or not, if you just updated the driver of you unit (specialy Intel display adapter) try to reinstall the driver and use the one has date which is earlier, you can do this under device manager/display adapter. reboot your computer. check if it worked or not

I have the same sympton with my old Acer 4830T. It ofen barely awakes after sleeping! Smiley Happy Meaning that the screen still awakes but works faintly. I used <Fn>+F4, let it sleep and just awake again. It usesally works! But one day, It stops bright, although it still works faintly! The main reason is a bad connection between MB and screen. The connection is around the Logo Acer on the screen, so I decided slightly press around the Logo to force the connection getting back, and.. voila... the screen brights again!!! Maybe, am I lucky? I don't know, but it's just a solution you can try.

    Have a good luck!
