Bluetooth car controls not working on Acer Gallant.

Hi,

i'm having a dealbreaker problem: Bought this phone this weekend, and it seems that i can not start, skip, see or control the music on my phone in any way from my car (be it steering wheel or car console).

Pairing works, phonebook loads, but music is useless. The only thing that will work is to initiate music FROM the phone. The car will play it back, but controls still won't work. Can't skip, nor do i see song information on the car's touchscreen.

This used to work with my Liquid E S100. Just turn the car keys and choose Bluetooth audio, and automatically the music would start playing, enabling remote control from my car. So it definitely is a problem on the phone's end. There are reports online of other people having the same issue, so it's not an isolated problem. For me this is a dealbreaker, i always listen to my phone's playlist, since it also doubles as my regular MP3 player.

I've called my local customer support, but they seem rather clueless and kept repeating there was no software update at this time and had no idea when there would be one available, let alone if this would fix the problem.

Any help is greatly appreciated. I hope i don't have to resort to rooting the phone, although if all else fails, it will be a last resort. It's either that or send the phone back for another brand. I also can't idly wait for an update that might never come or might not even fix the issue.
