Hello:

I have recently buyed an Aspire Switch 10, which uses an Intel Atom processor and Intel HD graphics. I have connected the system to a TV through HDMI and I want to duplicate the image both on the PC and on the TV. However, the problem that I have is that the TV shows huge black borders. This is because I cannot set the TV to scale the image to full screen. I have updated the drivers of the graphics adaptor and I still have the same problem. In the Intel Control Panel, the only option for the TV is to center the image.

It’s very annoying, since I have another cheaper devices which can scale the image through HDMI without problems.

Can you give me any solution?

Thanks in advance.

Regards.

    Hello:

Thanks for the reply. Now, it works. Your solution didn't exactly worked, but you give some ideas to try. I tried to change the resolution to 1280*768 but it didn't work either. However, I tried with 1280*720 and now a new option appears in the aspect ratio field for the TV, the new option is "Maintain Aspect ratio", if I choose it, I can see the image in full screen on my TV.

I am going to put some screenshots:

    - First, I change the resolution of the screens in dual display mode:

    cambiar resolucion.jpg

    - Now a new option appears on the intel hd graphics management application:

It's a bit weird to have to do all of this to get dual display with full screen in the TV. It would be better if the image was auto-scaled to full screen. I suppose that this is caused because my TV is 16:9 and the Acer Switch 10 is 16:10; but this is weird anyway. It should be easier.

    Thanks for the help.

    Regards.

You may try these steps. Make a right click on the desktop page and select Graphics properties.

Now you can access the graphics properties. Then click on Display settings > Aspect ratio options.

After selecting aspect ratio optiobs > select Full screen (no border) and ckick on OK.

The other option is to make a right click on desktop page and select properties > change the resolution > click on scaling > select Full screen

    Hello:

Thanks for the quick answer, but it does not work. In fact I tried these things before posting this message. I am going to add some snapsots about it.

In the first method, when I try to change Aspect Ratio of my Tv I only have one option "Center Image":

In the second method, that is, in the control panel, I have the same issue, if I choose the TV I have only one option: "Center Image":

    I would appreciate any help.

You may try to keep the screen resolution to 1280*768, then check the Aspect ratio options, it should display three options Center Image, Scale full screen, Maintain Aspect ratio.

Thank you so much for your help.

I read this post though I have not an ACER computer but it worked.

Changing the resolution gives you access in other options on the Intel HD graphic interface.

Another way is to choose another option than duplicate display (either one display or extended desktop).

The problem seems indeed to come from the fact that your built on display resolution differs from your 2nd monitor. You should find one that suits both or treat them as separate displays.

    Thank you vm once gain.
