Download waiting to begin, Stopping downloads/installations

Hello everyone.  I have a few issues I hope someone can help me with ---
1.  While playing a game, it was interrupted by "ads" for other games/apps/etc.  I touched the screen for a play about the same time the game took a break for an ad, and ended up hitting something that I guess was supposed to initiate a download.  However, the app (CBS Sports) remained in the "notification detail" at the top of the display for 2 or 3 days, with the message "Download waiting to begin," as if it is in some kind of queue.  I could not find out how to kill this process, or force the download/installation so that I could then uninstall it.  After it finally installed, I deleted it, only to find that 2 days later, the CBS Sports app was installed again.  I uninstalled it again.   Now today, though I don't know why, Jewel Bubbles 2 is in the "notification detail," with the message "download waiting to begin."  I do not want the game, and have uninstalled it once before after a slew of games installed when I accidentally hit on some area of an ad when it popped up on the display while I was playing a game.  How do I kill the process, this "download waiting to begin?
2.  Why do things that have already been downloaded and installed keep popping up in the "notification detail" just to tell me, as if I don't already know it, that those items have been installed?  How do I stop this?
3.  Why do items that I've uninstalled, keep coming back and trying to download and/or install?  How do I stop that from happening?

My tablet is an Acer Iconia One 7, Model B1-730, Android version 4.4.2.  I've head it approximately two weeks.

Thanks in advance for any help to these three issues.

i suggest you to do a factory reset to stop this behaviour, do a backup of your personal data before do it.

Thank you IronFly for your answer/suggestion.  However, I am very new to this tablet stuff, so please forgive my ignorance.

I have gone to the settings page, under "Backup & reset."  There is a checkmark in "Backup my data," and a checkmark in "Automatic restore," yet when I tap "Factory data reset," I am still advised that the tablet will be wiped clean.

Am I to assume that if I tap the "Rest tablet" button under "Factory data reset," when finished, the few things I have placed on my tablet since getting it will still be there?

it will wiped to factory default, so like the first time you powered on, it will only sync your gmail account with downloaded applications, mails and contacts.

if you have pictures, music/ movie or other personal data, it's better to do a backup.

Thank you again for your quick reply.  Since I obviously don't understand the tablet's purpose of the "Backup my date" and the "Automatic restor" features, I have simply connected the tablet to my computer, and moved pix, vids and stuff to the computer until such time the tablet is restored to factory default.

It appears (at least to me) that this environment is very different from that of a computer where you have 2 or 3 clearly defined choices.

LOL... maybe I'm just getting too old and set in my ways to grasp this new stuff.  I've already been told by one 20 years my junior that I didn't need a tablet!

I hope it will be okay to leave this thread open for a little longer, until after the tablet is restored to factory default, and I've had a chance to see if the same issues return.

    Thanks again.

i can explain them really easily.

your tablet has Android OS that's based on google services and account, it gives you the possibility to backup your data on cloud enviroment (your google account) and automatic restore your data on the first log in at your google account (can be a new device or old device after a factory reset).
