Acer A1-810 taking over 24hrs to charge and is not charging fully

I have an Acer A1 -810 just out of warranty by a couple of weeks (of course!) and it is not charging fully (reaches 84% max) and only does so when plugged into the AC adaptor for over 24 hours. It would have previously charged to 100% in approxiamately 5 hours. I had the battery checked and the AC adaptor checked by an IT repair centre and they said both were fine. I replaced the mini USB cable just in case it was possibly damaged, but the charging problem still persists. I have seen from other posts that there seems to be a problem charging this tablet after system updates and when it is left on whilst charging. Should I reset the tablet? Or should I look to another tablet? Am very frustrated with this.

Thanks in advance!

you can power off your tablet and try to charge it or do a factory reset:

    settings/backup&reset/factory data reset

    I'm not an Acer employee.

thanks for replying! Smiley Happy will see how it charges when powered off. If it's still acting up, will try the factory reset. ☺

Despite replacing the battery and getting a new charging cable, and then doing a factory reset the tablet still took over 24 hours to charge and right now its not going past 31% even when it is powered off and plugged into charge. It's only 15 months old max and am really disaapointed with its performance. Am going to bring it to a repair centre one last time to see if they can figure out the problem. Has put me off buying Acer again to be honest.

What charger are you using? Typical USB connections are limited to 500mA, the charger that comes with your tablet is 2A, four times the power available on typical USB. There is circuitry in the tablet that detects whether you are connected to USB or a stock charger and adjusts the charge circuit to match either. When connected to the 500mA the charge is only maintained. When connected to 2A then it charges instead of just holding on.
