Made The Swith from Apple to PC

Member Posts: 4 New User

Just introducing myself.  I'm a Mac and my wife is a PC.  That was the running the joke in the family since I've been a Mac user long before I even met my wife.  She been working for Microsoft for over nine years.  Been married for fifteen.  So there's always been friendly banter between us.  I slowly switched from an iPhone to the Nokia 41 megapixel Windows phone and this Christmas we even bought the children an Acer Aspire Switch 10 to replace their iPad.  Unfortunately, the touchscreen doesn't work and I'm trying to be as patient as can be trying to find a solution after working on it since Christmas morning. I'm hoping someone within the community can help me with my delema.  Either way, Happy Holidays to everyone.

i downloaded all the firmware and drivers but it works for awhile but the touch screen stops working again. Troubleshooting didn't help. The HID touch screen becomes hidden. I think it's a combination of the hardware , drivers and software.

PC users, I'm trying my best...  nothing has worked so far.  The touchscreen HID driver is greyed out. I have installed every update, I have uninstalled the three USB HID devices and scanned for hardware changes, I've performed every troubleshoot available in the Update and Recovery Advanced Startup,

Acer, please come up with a fix.  I don't think that the Aspire Switch 10 touchscreen DOES NOT PLAY NICE with Windows 8.1 preinstalled.  This should not be sold as a touchscreen device when the touchscreen doesn't work!  The touchscreen HID should not be hidden in the Device Manager.

Please, please, and please Acer fix this.  Any other ideas out there?

I'm thinking you are fighting a hardware issue that shows itself by crashing the drivers. I'd contact Acer support and go the warranty route. I had zero touchscreen issues with the Switch I evaluated a few months ago.
