W700 out of stock everywhere?

I ordered a W700 online and received notice that it is out of stock.  B&H shows the W700-6691 as being out of stock and the W700-6465 as being "discontinued".  I have been unable to find  an i5  W700 anywhere online.  I had decided on the W700 instead of the Surface Pro, but I may not have a choice if Acer doesn't make enough of these devices.  Are there any plans to ship any W700s any time soon?

Dont worry...the reason why it is like this is because they are going to sell it with a new case, a case with built in keyboard

Why is it impossible to find the I5 128GB W700 anywhere?

Maybe because of all the throtling /bios problems ? Since they cant fix it maybe they didnt produce more units and will try to launch 2 new models like it was said on gizmology ? Only time will tell.

    are you serious freeky1?

I literally posted 2 websites that had the 128gb in stock

    cylemmulo,

Unfortunately TigerDirect's site cleary states that they are out of stock.  I refuse to buy anything from NewEgg because I live in Tennessee, and NewEgg charges me 10% sales tax, even though they usually ship the items from California.

Must suck in TN. i'm in AL and i get all my stuff from TN shipping facility overnight LOL.  Tiger does have the 64 gb i5 model though and you could get a 128gb msata for about the same price as buying it all at once... but you would have to upgrade it yourself.

The stock is limited in alot of places I think.. and the upper models are worse than the lower ones.. But it has partly to do with it selling... I watch Amazon go through about 20 units of i3 a day I believe.. at least if the "remaining stock" numbers were accurate...

Well, Tennessee isn't bad, and I certainly wouldn't leave Tennessee for Alabama!  I hate having to drive through Alabama to get to my parents' home in Florida.

We have no income tax, but our sales tax is 9.25%.

I have found that by simply shopping smartly, I can save quite a bit.  The last three Macbook Pros I have purchased have been from B&H at quite a discount, free fast shipping, and no tax.  I haven't bought anything from NewEgg since they moved to Memphis about 10 years ago.  I bought from ZipZoomFly until they closed up shop, but I refuse to give NewEgg any of my money.  I have always found that I can find it cheaper elsewhere.

I am looking at the Fujitsu Q702 instead of the W700 now. It has a digitizer pen, full keyboard dock with extra battery, SD card slot, 128GB SSD, and weighs almost a half pound less with the dock removed.

Thanks for the tip freeky but the screen has a much lower resolution...

The high resolution of the W700 is too high for me.  My Dell Mobile Precision Workstation has 1920x1080 resolution on 17" screen, and the text is too small.  I can't imagine that resolution on an 11" screen.  The 1366x768 resolution will suit me well.  My 55" plasma has 1366x768 screen resolution, and it looks great!

you could always change the text or desktop icon bigger. you probably know this by going control panel(view by category), appearance and personalization, making text and other items larger or smaller, choose larger 150% or custom sizing options and adjust % to your liking.

on a side note, beside w700, surface pro, ces is coming up , i would have waited for it to see whats offering like asus transformer book, msi slider s20, lenovo helix and probably what sammy has at ces. entry price point maybe important to us all.

Edit - btw in that US site the Iconia W700 W700-6465 is discontinued so hopefully they will indeed release those 2 rumored models.

I wished we had that kind of taxes Smiley Happy

We have about 40% income taxes and 21% sales taxes in Belgium...

Did you check Q702 price? It's $670 more and for this additional price you are getting digitizer stylus (will you really use it?), SD card slot (on ebay you can buy multi-card reader for about $10), one additional USB (USB hub on ebay costs about $30) and of course docking station with additional battery and full keyboard+touchpad... The additional battery would be highly needed because Fujitsu claims that tablet will have only 5h10min of battery life (which in real life I guess will be max 4 - 4,5 h). And this keyboard+touchpad... in my opinion it's better to wait until Acer released keyboard case for W700 and I really think you won't wait long Smiley Happy
