MicroSD card capacity for Acer Iconia A1-810
For the Acer Iconia A1-810, is there a limit to the size/capacity of the MicroSD card you can plugin?

I know at least some are, and the SDXC standards allow even higher speeds. The SDHC on the A1 only supports some of the slower speeds, but that just means that SDXC runs at the SDHC speeds. I think there are some 128GB cards out now and I expect they would work as well. I think they're still priced pretty high though.

The limits seem to be speed rather than capacity. The 64GB SDXC cards work fine, though I believe can't be formatted directly in the tablet.

er.. how would you format the SD card then?

Needless to say, you don't need to format it to use it, since it come pre-formatted from the factory. If you need to reformat it at some point you'd have to plug it into a system that has an SDXC interface.

Aha I thought as much. Hmm curious to know what the highest capacity would be that I could use, as that is what I would purchase for the greatest benefit.

Be aware there are scammers out there who offer small cards as larger, or ones that are altogether fake. Stick with reputable sellers and brands.

They probably didn't even try a larger card. 64GB or 128GB is no problem, though you'll only get the SDHC speeds and won't be able to format it natively. If you ever need to format a SDXC card, it'll have to be in a SDXC slot... But I've never needed to format an SD card.
