Why wont my new netbook connect to skype when all other internet services are working?
Dodo sent me a little laptop on a plan which has Skype already on desktop. My internet connection is 100% and all other internet services are working fine. Skype will not connect on the new laptop but works fine on my old tablet. I spent most of friday night trying to work it out with no luck. Any advise would be greatly apprieciated.

Does your new netbook have a norton anti-virus free trial on it? You may have to add Skype to the firewall as a trusted program for it to connect.

As you are not able to connect to Skype, you can try installing the latest version of the application and see if that helps. To do this, you can follow the instructions below:
Note: Before proceeding with the installation, it is recommended to check the following System Requirements page:
https://support.skype.com/en/faq/FA10328/what-are-the-system-requirements-for-skype
1. Go to http://www.skype.com/download-skype/ and download the latest version suitable to your system.
2. Click "Save" to save the setup file to your computer.
3. Once the download is completed, click "Run" to start with the installation.
Note: If you see a subsequent screen asking you to allow the following program to make changes to this computer, double check to make sure that the "Program name" says Skype and "Verified publisher" says Skype Software Sarl, then click Yes to start the installation process.
4. Follow on-screen instructions to complete the installation process.
5. Once the installation is finished, you will need to sign-in either by using your Skype Name or your Microsoft account. Make your selection appropriately and see if you are able to sign-in.The following link can be helpful:

Maybe the application itself has a problem upon installing it. Try re-download and re-install it.
