Hello People,

I have a problem with my battery, althought the battery is setted correctly, Windows 8.1 recognize it. But, battery icon says, plugged in, but no charging and shows the last percent (28%) of ussage I had. Yesterday, I use the laptop without AC adapter and worked great, but today, if I unplug the AC Adapter, the laptop shutdown instantly. Obviously, removing the battery and using it just with the AC Adapter works perfect.

Also, I tried to unistall the driver Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery, Scan for hardware changes, restart and all the process one time and over and onver but nothing fixed the problem.

To end, when the battery is setted and connected with the AC Adapter, it seems like is charging for 5 seconds but after the light goes intermittent. Doesn't matter if the laptop is on or off, it happens the same all the time.

May I have some assistance here please?

My laptop

ACER ASPIRE V3-551G-X419

My BIOS version 2.14,

Did your problem happen after upgrading to 8.1? If so, you may try going back to Windows 8 and trying the update again..

My thoughts are that it could be a problem with the battery, ac adapter, or computer itself. You may want to contact technical support in your regain to inquire about ordering a battery, adapter, or possibly scheduling warranty repair.

I have a similar problem. I was in the end forced to upgrade to Windows 8.1 and sometime after that my computer started hibernating immediately when unplugged (despite fully charged battery). I did not attempt any driver upgrade as a fix. (Also saw the second light from the left on the front flashing orange when plugged in for the first time today. Now it's solid blue, however.)

    For me the same.

On my new, very new, V3-111P-C7WC with Windows 8.1 the battery is 0% plugged in, but no charging.

I unistalled the driver Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery, rebooted, but the problem remained.

I tried to update the BIOS but the  "ZHJ_129.exe" flash program says: "Battery is too low (0 < 15). Please charge your battery to 15%" (!!!).

    Could someone help?

    (Forgive my English...)

I have a feeling the battery is getting knocked slightly loose as occasionally my laptop will also not switch on when unplugged. I then turn it over and push on the battery compartment and then (flipped right side up) it does turn on. I am dragging my laptop all over town in a wheeled small suitcase and I suspect that is causing problems (but I of course also expect the laptop to be rugged enough to hold up to such treatment).

    Mine is an Aspire E1-571.
