Running an Aspire M3400 with Windows7; Troubleshooting hardware and devices reports a "Problem detected with Standard PS/2 Keyboard" while I have a USB keyboard installed. How can I correct this?

    Good day

If you are using the USB ports thats fine. As the drivers for your PS2 ports are within windows itself, when you have time, backup the data and reload the machine to factory setting and run the Windows 7 troubleshooting hardware, if the error is still there, you need to replace the mainboard if the machine is still withing warranty, if out of warranty and you dont need to use those ports, its not worth it.

    Greetings,

I just remembered that the error appeared shortly after I reloaded the machine to factory settings. This problem corrupts the installation of my all-in-one printer;  unable to recover the "scan to.." functionality which is very important to me. And since the machine is two months beyond warranty, i will compare the cost and merit of replacing the mainboard vesus replacing the whole machine.

    Thanks for the input.
