Problems with charging.

About 4 months ago I went out and bought a universal charger because my original one stopped working. It was working perfectly for the last 4 months, but recently (within the last week) when I plug the carger into my laptop all the lights start flashing (the blue light on the power button, the blue light by the charging light, and the orange charging light) and my laptop doesn't charge. sometimes if I unplug it and then plug it back in it works again, but not always. I know it is not the charger because two other people sare the charger with me and they don't have a problem. Can you help me with this problem? Thanks!

Try to reinstall battery to see.

And make sure that adapter meet the unit require volts and amps.

I checked and it meets the requirements. By reinstall do you mean the software? I know before (about a year ago) I had to update the battery software, maybe it needs updating again..?

    Tinkerer

if both battery and ac adapter are working fine, then it's probably the mb problem

    Good day

    1. You tested the other charger on other machines. Have you tested other chargers on your machine?

    2. I see that you have tested another battery.

    3. Look if there is any latest bios update for your machine? If so, update the bios

    4. Not only can it be the mainboard, on some models such as Aspire 6935/G, a faulty DC power cable (cable from dc pin to mainboard) caused that problem and on Aspire 3680 a Powerboard was the cause of the problem.

My recommendation: Rather take the machine to the repair centre before tampering with the mainboard because it might be a very small problem. If your machine is out of warranty and you buy the mainboard and thats not the problem, then its a loss!

    Regards,

I have had an Acer Aspire 7750G-9810 that will charge fne sometimes and other times it is constantly beeping like it's being unplugged and plugged in even though it is on a desk and not being touched. I'm not sure if it is related to your problem and I"m looking for a fix.
