Hello! I'm hoping someone can help me. I'm not very tech savvy. But my laptop (Acer Aspire V5-573G) suddenly restarts itself. I've had it for around four months and today without any warning the screen goes green and it says restarting, then shuts itself off and back on. Does anyone know why this happens or how to stop it? Thanks in advance!

it keeps doing or just happened once?

maybe it just overheat, check if any dust is present on air grids.

Keeps going it, every 1 1/2- 2 hours. No dust anyway, looks in immaculate condition.

Please  disable the automatic reboot on errors, so you can write down the error code if any blue screen of death will appear.

    control panel/system/advanced system settings/startup and recovery/settings

    untick "system failure", automatically restart

I have done this, and it just happened again. Restarted without any warning.

I was using a program I downloaded to watch mp4 files. But I have been using that program for months. And I do have virus protection. So I didn't think it would have been the cause.

Can you please update your VGA drivers?

    both Intel and nvidia:

    http://us.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/drivers/4843;-;Aspire%20V5-573G

select your OS and then download the 2 packages.

that green flash you mentioned and those restarting without any error is not good, i suspect an hardware issue on VGA.

please report if you will have another reset after the 2 drivers update.
