Your answer makes no sense to me. I just want to know if I can change my Intel Celeron 450 to a Pentium 4.

Many of the CPUs listed above are better than a pentium 4. Your system is from around 2010. They stopped making pentium 4's in 2008. Technically you could probably put some pentium 4's in your system since it is socket 775, but that would depend on the pentium 4. They started making pentium 4's in the year 2000. So some pentium 4s would be compatible and some wouldn't. Why would you want to use a pentium 4 when there are compatible processors on that spoiler list that are much better than a pentium 4? It doesn't make any sense to me. If "socket 775" or "LGA 775" doesn't make sense to you, then show this thread to a friend or family member that has more advanced computer skills.

My advice to you is.........show that spoiler list to an intermediate to advanced computer user. Swapping out CPUs is not generally for beginners. I'm sure you could pick up the best CPU on that spoiler list (which is much faster than a pentium 4) for really cheap on eBay.

Thanks for your patience! I wasn't sure what the spoiler list was.

    I think I'll go with the E6600.

  • Hello sheriff12,

    I'm checking the heatsink.

    France
  • The heatsink is ok (Cool Master or AVC heatsink).

Does that mean I shouldn't use the one that is now installed?

  • Hello,

No, you'll be able to use the one that is installed.
