Find your Windows key that came with your tablet. Probably a sticker on your tablet or with your documentation. Download Windows 8.1 from Microsoft's Technet site. Put the OS onto a usb stick and install Windows from it. During the install process, delete all partitions, then start the install.

    That's what I did with my W700.

The best way is to use a partition manager program like EaseUS, PartitionMagic, Paragon, etc.

No, if the partition is deleted by using this software, the system does not start. Says to repair os.

I don't know what you're talking about. I did this exact thing on my W4 without any problems; deleted the recovery partition and expanded the primary.

I have a few different partition managers so I'm not 100% certain which one I used at the time, but I think it was Partition Wizard.

This system uses a Microsoft technology called WIMboot which requires a recovery partition. I am providing a link with more information below.

That might be the original configuration, but the W4 works fine with the traditional install format. I completely deleted all partitions and did a clean install on mine.

    Plastixx,

I completely agree. As long as an OS that is not WIMboot is loaded, the recovery partition would not be necessary. The WIMboot operating relies on files from the recovery partition, so it is required for the OEM OS.

Would the Acer Switch be the same process as the Iconia?

    b_rad_1983,

The Switch 10 uses a Microsoft technology called WIMboot, which requires a recovery partition for Windows to operate. If you were to delete the partition, our OEM operating system would not boot. If you want to completely wipe the drive and load your own OS, you can use any disk management tool you choose to format the drive. I am providing a link with more information on WIMboot below.

    Thanks blayn.
I'm just trying to free up some space on the small drive.
I would love if the 32gb could be upgraded.

I understand completely. Unfortunately, the drive in the system is not upgradable. Some options that may work for you would be looking into cloud storage, or possibly getting an external USB flash drive or hard drive to use as storage.
