Wireless internet constantly disconnects during a session

Our wireless internet connection on our recently purchased Aspire V3-571G keeps disconnecting. There is no pattern to the problem and it can happen minutes after diagnostics has just 'fixed' the problem. The message usually says a problem with the wireless network has been fixed. My husband has used the support site to get any tips and has downloaded update drivers but alas, to no avail. I would be grateful for any assistance from anyone who has experienced a similar problem and managed to resolve it. It is driving me crazy! Thank you.

    Hi,

We are running Windows 8. I'm still getting used to it to be honest!

Hopefully someone will have just the solution we need. I have also emailed Acer support so I will let you know when I hear back from them.

Okay thanks! I am running windows 7 though. Spent the whole evening trying to fix it, my head hurts Smiley Sad . I did read that windows 8 had connection issues, and some tech linked http://acer.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/27675/kw/unstable a network card driver update that should fix it for win 8 users.

    Thanks Alix,

Tried this too. Not worked either. There is meant to be a 217 v3 for the driver but despite 'going thru the motions' to install it, the driver details still show the old 217. The link you gave states that there have been connectivity problems for many of the driver versions. Why can't all the software just do what it's meant to. A new version 218 is meant to be available soon so I hope it hurries up. Of all the things that are possible these days, surely managing to stay connected to the internet shouldn't be so difficult!

I hope to hear back from the Acer team soon (they say within 24hrs!) so if I get a sloution I will let you know.

I appreciate your contact and offer of support. Thanks.

Just adding my voice to the issue, I bought my v3-571G-9686 earlier this week, and the internet fails consistently every 10-20 minutes. The "interim driver" did nothing to solve the issue, and any of the other solutions I've found online haven't helped.

I'm running 64-bit Windows 8, and same as OP, I updated to 10.0.0.217.v3 and the device manager still says 10.0.0.217 if that makes a difference.

I just received a response from Acer that told me to reset my BIOS to default settings, along with this link:

    http://acer.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/27057

Be advised that Windows 8 computers cannot enter the BIOS in the way that ^those instructions say to. If you want to try resetting your BIOS, follow the directions here to get into the BIOS, then do what Acer's link says to do.

At any rate, it still didn't change the tendency of my internet to disconnect, so I don't necessarily recommend this course of action. Though now I can see that my "Devices" in my control panel need to be troubleshooted, doing so brings up several errors having to do with the Bluetooth drivers not working properly.....

Seeing as the Wireless/Bluetooth drivers are one and the same that COULD be the issue, but who's to say for sure? At any rate, I don't know of any way to fix it myself, so I'm just using an alternate wireless adapter that I had for my old desktop until they release the new patch that will hopefully fix this issue.

    Nazoa,

Did you ever resolve this problem? I am in the same position and am extremely frustrated with a brand new notebook that can't keep an internet connection for longer than 10 minutes. Were you ever able to fix yours?
