After a clean install of 8.1 pro, how do I know if SSD Drive is working properly?

I have an ACER R7-751G (500GB HD, 24GB SSD).  I did a clean install of Windows 8.1 Pro on Disk 0 from a DVD.  I could only read the DVD when Booting in Legacy.  After installing, I converted Disk 0 from MBR to GPT and rebooted in UEFI.  All seemed to be OK, but the SSD doesn't seem to be doing anything.

1)  How do I know if SSD Drive is working properly?

2)  Should it be set at Primary/NTSF/GPT, or something else?

Thanks for any info you can provide.

Sincerely,

Edesigns

Open the Computer Management application (compmgmt.msc) and select the Disk Management node. If your device isn't listed here, it is not recognized. If your device is listed here but not in your normal file explorer maybe it isn't formated properly. You can do this also with the Disk Manager. Create partitions etc.

    1)  As I stated, I can see it, but from all appearances, it doesn't seem to be doing anything.  It doesn't show any activity in Task Manager.

    2)  Is it setup properly for the ACER R7-571 to use it?  How do I know if it is storing and using any windows 8.1 instant on/hybrid boot/fast start options?

Thanks for any info you can provide.

    Sincerely,

The SSD is used only as cache to speed up the system.
I can't check it now, but if you go to the Acer support website, you can download proper drivers and software to use the SSD as cache.
    I'm not an Acer employee.
